I’d like to tell you a little about how Wildly Healthy came to be ….
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” – Hippocrates

Leaf uprightHello I’m Nic Mitchell and I’m very happy that you’re here!  I originally started out in the natural health world as an Aromatherapist around 25 years ago, and after having my two daughters, I felt I needed to know more about how to keep my family healthy.  I had also developed a thirst for knowledge and an obsession with recipe books (just love them).  Combined with a love of eating, messing about in the kitchen, and well, just food in general, I decided to train at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in Bristol for 3 years, where earned myself a Diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition and learned more about this amazing subject than I could have ever imagined.

As a former yo-yo dieter, lurching from one faddy diet to the next, I have discovered how to control my rollercoaster blood sugar levels that dictated how, what and when I ate.  Now I would describe myself as a very happy flexetarian, embracing paleo, vegetarian, and vegan lifestyles.  By eating real, fresh, delicious food that nourishes me, I can honestly say I feel better than ever.

Throughout my adult life I suffered from arthritis, which resulted in having to have both hips replaced by the age of 45.  Eeek!  If only I’d known then what I know now, my lifestyle and food choices would have been quite different.  But what’s done is done, and I intend to keep the joints I do have left in top condition and if you are struggling with a similar condition, I’d like to help you do the same!

So here we are a few years down the line, having been wrapped up in the wonderful world of naturopathic nutrition studies, I’m so excited to be able to share it all with you.  Wildly Healthy Nutrition and Wellness came about from my love of walking in the wild outdoors (now that I can!) and wanting to bring together all my holistic therapy skills with the fact that I’m completely wild about using whole, nutritious and delicious food for maximizing health and wellness.  The food we eat and our general wellbeing have such a profound effect on our bodies, and I’m committed to helping you make positive lifestyle choices and to inspire you to live the Wildly Healthy way for vibrant, radiant health.
